A scarce early Davids & Co New York emb stoneware ink bottle with 1858 English Registry date…..

impressed near base with English Registry diamond with letter B at top that indicates this bottle was made in 1858….White glazed pottery with fingerprints around base where potter held the bottle by the bottom when dipping into the white slip….round unique shape with bulged shoulder ring….pour spout lip….5 3/4″smaller than normal  size….Good condition with only a couple small chips on very bottom and some small chips on edge of pour spout lip. A nice clean bottle with no stain. This is a scarce small size master ink from the famous Thaddeus Davids Ink co of NY. Thick heavy stoneware..
