DESCRIPTION:
Spectacular vintage 1976, decorative Scandinavian Jahresteller art glass bowl, by Bjorn Wiinblad for Rosenthal. This is a limited Edition piece which is signed on the front, with the edition number 1039/3000, and date on the back of rim. The original owners had this fantastic, black enameled iron and metal stand, custom made to display this particular piece. So instead of a simple centerpiece bowl, they had a huge Wiinblad sculpture to display in their home.
SIZE/WEIGHT:
Bowl measures 14.5″ wide × 2.75″ deep. The stand has a 11.25” x 6” deep base, and is 16” across. When the bowl is displayed on the stand it is 25” tall.
CONDITION:
Pre-owned displayed on stand. The gold and white paint on the front has almost no wear, and we didn‘t notice any scratches. The bottom or base of the bowl, has a small black mark, and some noticeable scratches and scuffs, which are beneath her face. They are only visible from the bottom or back of the bowl, and we really couldn’t see the scratches from the front viewing side. There is very small edge or rim flake on one side, and a small edge or rim chip near the bottom, about an inch away from the Wiinblad signature. These small fleabites or chips are not very noticeable in our opinion. The stand is still a very good and sturdy piece, but over the years the base has developed wear spots and has been touched up on the front right edge. This could be lightly sanded down, and spray painted your color of choice.
