This uncommon small crystal decanter measures about 8 3/4″ H with stopper in place.  This was hand blown, hand faceted, hand gilded and painted circa 1880.  The gilding is worn, as should be expected, but there are no chips or cracks on the decanter, however a chip on the inside edge of the stopper…see the photo.  This style is a late example of Beidermeier, with masculine essentially architectural forms.  This period glass often had engravings and/or colored surface flashing with images of castles, buildings, deer, etc.  There is a residue of contents on the inside bottom which you see in one of the photos.  This is not noticeable from the side and no attempt has been to remove it.
