This is a set of vintage Italian alabaster or possibly marble desk accessories. There is a pen/pencil holder and a paper clips/fasteners holder.
I am uncertain as to exactly how old they are, but they definitely have good age.
The pen/pencil holder measures 3 7/8 inches tall x 3 3/8 inches wide (9.8 cm, 8.6 cm). The paper clips holder measures 2 1/4 inches tall x 2 3/8 inches wide (5.7 cm, 6 cm).
The pen/pencil holder is marked ITALY on the bottom. Interestingly, someone had written Gratefully Ralph Edwards. The name sounded familiar so I looked it up. If this is the person I think it might be, he was an American radio and television host and producer. He was best known for his radio/TV game shows Truth or Consequences and This Is Your Life. I’m wondering if he didn’t give these to someone as a gift some time. Of course, I could be totally wrong!
Both pieces have a great looking marbleized and fluted design.
They each have scattered nicks and dings to the surface. There are no large chips, breaks or cracks. For some reason, the paper clip holder is generally a little darker than the pen/pencil holder.
Together they weigh 1 lb. 10 oz. (738 g).
