Star Wars’ “Howie Weed;”
ILM’s Chief Creature Maker, Special Effect Artist (ANH, ESB, ROTJ in the 1997 Special Editions). He also appeared as a Star Creature in Star Wars films.
Harold “Howie” Weed’s (Born: Dec. 23, 1962) work included LucasFilm’s Industrial Light & Magic (ILM).
In 1997 he worked as a special effect artist and became ILM’s
Chief Creature Maker.
Weed
also appeared in the 1997 Star Wars Special Edition (SE) movie series as creature characters including “Wampa” – the Ice Creature (ESB SE); “Ketwol” (Cantina Creature, ANH SE) and “Melas”
(Cantina Creature, ANH SE).
Weed also worked as a Construction artist, and digital modeling artist on the 1998 Star Wars Episode I (Phantom Menace) movie.
Weed had other artist/ special effects/ movie model, digital model making and or character work in Ghostbusters II (1989); Director Steven Spielberg’s “Gremlins” (1984) and Jurassic Park (1993), Star Trek: First Contact (1996); Minority Report (2002) Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016); Transformers: The Last Night (2017); Black Panther (2018); Avengers: Infinity War (2018). and many other blockbuster films.
