Vintage John Boy & Billy For President Bumper Sticker –
WBCY-108 FM Radio Charlotte NC.
This is an original bumper sticker from the nationally recognized radio team of John Boy & Billy from the early 80’s a few years after they started broadcasting together.
I believe it is from 1983 around the time when presidential candidates
were hitting the campaign trail. In typical John Boy & Billy fashion, they decided
to run their own campaign with the slogan “What you want, Baby You Got It.”
They had bumper stickers printed up with the slogan on it.
This is an original vintage bumper sticker. It has never
been used & the back peel never removed. The sticker measures approx. 2 1/4″ x 11 1/4.”
The bumper sticker is red, white & blue with
stars & stripes. It has the radio station WBCY-108FM in the top center and
the slogan “What you want, Baby You Got It” in the middle & John Boy and
Billy For President at the bottom. On the back is an ad for Just Pants and Lee
Jeans. It has a date that it expires Nov. 30, 1984. The back of the bumper
sticker looks to have some age discoloration.
Overall, it is in great shape for its age.
I really don’t remember where I got it…I’m sure it was at
some event in Charlotte that the radio station was promoting. I used to go to a
lot of concerts back then. It could have been at one of those.
John Boy & Billy stayed with WBCY-108 a couple more
years then went over to another Charlotte station WRFX 99.7 in 1986. The rest
as they say is history since it went into syndication as The Big Show.
I had completely forgotten about this and was surprised to
have found it and in such good condition.

of keeping some of the history of my family which is now gone. I wish I could
