This 11 x 14 cardboard sign was produced by a group of baseball fans seeking to generate enthusiasm and support for a return of Major League Baseball to Washington, D.C. It was to be held up at the April, 1987 exhibition game between the NY Mets and Philadelphia Phillies at R. F. K. Stadium.
The expansion Senators had been moved to Arlington, Texas after the 1971 season by team owner Bob Short. It would be another 18 years before D.C. got baseball back.
