Condition: A lovely & obvious relic with a Medieval, eastern block religious affect (Illustrated Research located Below "Details"). Enameling is an ancient technique. It exists as a variable, but the "Fluent & asymmetrical" lines of this piece likely date it to the Rococo Period. To Quote the ANTIQUE JEWELRY UNIVERSITY ENCYCLOPEDIA, "Around 1725, when Louis XV was old enough to reign France, a new creative breeze blew through Paris. Artists freed themselves from the heavy Baroque style of Berain & Rococo was born. Lines became fluent & asymmetrical." If Antiques Roadshow ever comes to Rochester again, we'll get an expert appraisal. Meanwhile, we're relying on research and common sense (e.g., we're pretty sure that this piece wasn't intended for use with pudding...). The Piece is 5.75 inches in length with a 3/4 inch Arc. It Weighs 14 Grams. Please consider the illustrations.
