Original Cast Iron Mechanical Bank Indian Shooting Bear J & E Stevens Co 1888. Condition is “Used”.
The Antique J & E Stevens Western Indian, Bear Hunt, Cast Iron Mechanical Bank is in excellent Antique Condition.  Dated 1888 on the bottom.  The spring loaded gun is in very good working condition, perfect shot!  The Indian’s head tilts down when the gun is cocked.  When the lever on the base is pulled, it releases the spring within the rifle, shoots the coin into the bank. The Indian’s head pops back up as well as the Bear’s mouth opens in amazement.
There is paint chipping on the elbow and the face of the Indian, as well as other areas.  Please review ALL photos for continued description of the bank.  ADDITIONALLY, the feathers on the back of the Indian appear to have been “glued” to the Indian’s back.  There is a close up photo of this.  I am not aware if this is a repair or original manufacturing.  I want all to be aware of my observation.  Please review photos and ask questions if needed.
